MEC’s Pat Witte Retiring; Laurent Montenay promoted to lead International Sales and Operations;
Kerman, CA – October 2025 – MEC® Aerial Work Platforms, a leading manufacturer and supplier of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), is excited to announce a planned leadership transition for its International business. Pat Witte, VP International Sales & Business Development is retiring after 9 years with MEC. Laurent Montenay, who joined MEC in 2024 will take over MEC’s International Sales Operations.
David White, MEC President shared, “Pat was one of the driving forces behind MEC’s growth. He joined MEC in 2016 when we were a very small, niche player and brought energy, customer relationships, and sales strategy to Global Business Development – especially in North America. His breadth and depth of experience working with rental companies and equipment dealers from his tenures at Genie, JLG and Simon Aerials as well as serving on IPAF’s domestic and international councils was invaluable to MEC’s growth. Pat helped attract additional industry talent and built what has become a great sales team. I thank Pat for his dedication and contribution to MEC and wish him well in a much-deserved retirement.”
Laurent Montenay will become MEC’s Vice President, International Sales and Operations and become part of MEC’s Senior Leadership Team. Laurent lives near Bonn, Germany and will continue to establish the MEC brand with US-based customers doing business internationally. This will include establishing and developing a sales, delivery, and service infrastructure for MEC scissors, mast lifts, and boom lifts. Before coming to MEC, Laurent worked over 15 years at JLG and 3 years at Komatsu where he had progressive responsibilities in sales, product support, and business unit leadership.
Pat Witte shared, “I have had the pleasure of working with Laurent over the last year as we have prepared for this transition. His operational knowledge, product knowledge and industry experience will serve MEC well as the company grows with its customers.”
