MEC® Boosts Contractor Productivity with New PLUS (+) Electric Scissor Lifts at The ARA Show 2026
Upgraded models offer increased capacity, more work time per charge, and fewer daily hassles for rental fleet customers.
ORLANDO — MEC® Aerial Work Platforms will unveil the next generation of operator-driven innovation with its new PLUS (+) slab electric scissor lift line at The ARA Show in Orlando, featuring upgrades that reduce overloading stoppages, extend operation on a single charge, and make it easier for crews to keep working.
The PLUS line enhancements target work disruption by adding platform capacity, increasing duty cycles, and improving maneuverability across eight popular scissor lift models, so operators can stay on task longer and rental companies can maintain high utilization.
“Scissor lifts earn their keep when they are stationary in the work position — that’s when a tradesperson can get their job done,” said Gary Crook, VP of Engineering at MEC. “The MEC PLUS line of electric scissor lifts is about allowing crews to get in position quickly and work longer without interruptions, with more usable capacity, more runtime, and fewer small frustrations that can slow a shift down.”
Across the PLUS line, MEC focused on delivering outcomes operators care about most:
- Fewer overload interruptions: Maximum platform capacities increase up to 100 lbs. more per model, with deck extension and Xtra-Deck® (XD) capacities increasing from 250 to 300 lbs., thus reducing work stoppages caused by platform overload systems. These added capacities better meet today’s real-world usage for workers, tools, and materials.
- More productive time per charge: New AC front-wheel drive brushless motors in the Micro 19®+ and Micro 19®-XD+ models increase duty cycles by 8%. New high-efficiency PMSR AC+ motors added to six models (Micro 26®+, Micro 26®-XD+, 3232+, 3346+, 4046+, 4555+) recapture 30% of the lifting energy — increasing duty cycles by 22%, so crews can work longer between charges.
- Proportional lowering: The new PMSR AC+ motors on the six tallest models now enable proportional lowering, providing smoother, controlled descent and more precise working-height positioning.
- Faster positioning in tight interiors: Improvements to maneuverability and responsiveness make it easier for operators to get where they need to and reduce the time spent jockeying for position, especially in high-density indoor environments.
- Less frustration in daily use: Practical changes built around how the machines are actually used include a simplified gate entry with magnetic latching and a larger control box screen to improve communication of machine status.
“All these PLUS line improvements add up to more productivity from the operators and crews to access the work they need to do,” Crook said.
In addition, the PLUS line is designed to help rental companies:
- Prevent unnecessary service calls from overload shutoffs with higher platform, deck extension and Xtra-Deck capacities to align with real jobsite loads.
- Increase utilization with unmatched total specification and end-user preference, and offer more uptime from greater duty cycles so units finish more shifts without swap-outs or productivity-killing interruptions.
- Lower operating costs due to durability improvements, including an advanced rubber compound so non-marking tires can withstand abuse, and a 4-in-1 motor controller that greatly reduces system connections.
- Ease of transport and deliverability with deeper forklift pockets to accommodate loading by 10K and 12K telehandlers and side forklift pockets on all models above 26 ft. Larger 12-in. wheels were also added to the Micro 19+ and Micro19-XD+ for better driveability onto trucks and over thresholds.
- Protect fleet investments with MEC’s theft-deterrent bracket designed to reduce the occurrence of costly control box theft.
The PLUS line models all come standard with the operator- and rental-fleet preferred features of AGM maintenance-free batteries, MEC’s patented Leak Containment System to protect flooring, and a single charging and power-to-platform outlet to reduce confusion. On Xtra-Deck models, the patented, integrated system deploys in less than 10 seconds to quickly and safely add 20 in. of working height for operators to get into tighter overhead areas.
The ARA Show attendees can see three of the new PLUS line models — Micro 19-XD+, Micro-26-XD+, and 3232+ at Booth 1478 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando from March 2-4. Also available at the booth will be the All-Electric Nano 10®-XD scissor lift and MMAE16 vertical mast lift joined by the 34-J Diesel and recently launched 66-RJ Diesel telescopic boom lifts. Meet the MEC team to evaluate the upgrades and discuss which PLUS configurations best match your fleet and customer needs.
