For Immediate Release: February 1, 2010 Ultra-deck, mega-capacity, rotating and extending 40’ boom to debut in Florida Feb. 8, 2010
MEC is introducing its Titan Boom™40-S this coming week during the second annual traveling MEC RoadShow. The boom combines the strengths of three machines into one: The combined capacity of a telehandler (4,000 lbs/1800 kg), the work area of an ultra-deck scissor lift (22 feet x 90 inches/ 6.7 m x 2.28 m), plus the reach and rotation of a boom.
This mega-machine is revolutionizing how work is performed on jobsites. Gone are the days where a telehandler is parked with a pallet of concrete blocks hanging in the air over scaffolding. With a MEC Titan Boom™ on the job, the guardrails slide back, the load is placed in the loading zone on the platform deck, and up to four workers (and their tools) climb aboard, slide the guardrails closed, and then boom and rotate the platform (and their on-board load) exactly into position to perform their work.
The Titan Boom™ has the capabilities to simplify and ease the workflow for people in many industries including glaziers, pipe fitters, steel structure workers, fire sprinkler people, tilt-up workers, masons, dry-wallers, cladders and more. How will you use the Titan Boom™ to make your job easier, faster, safer, and to free up other machinery on your jobsite? Email us and let us know at info@mecAWP.com. The MEC Titan Boom™ features three steering modes (2WS, 4WS, and crab steer) for perfect maneuverability into any workspace, has automatic platform leveling, smooth proportional controls, has a platform that rotates 180 degrees, plus it handles a material load of 3,000 lbs (1350 kg) with up to four workers and tools in additional distributed load (up to 1,000 lbs / 450 kg) for a combined load of 4,000 lbs/1800 kg).
The Titan Boom™ 40-S has a working height of 46’ (14.2m), is powered by a Kubota turbo diesel engine, has 12 lanyard attachments, and an on-board diagnostics center for easy troubleshooting in the field.
If you would like to test out the Titan Boom™ call Jim Tolle, President of the MEC Sales Division, and set up an off-site RoadShow demonstration. Phone: (559) 349-1188. The road show will be traveling westward from Orlando, Florida across the United States through April. If you are interested in the Titan Boom™ but are unable to see it and the other MEC machines in Florida, perhaps the RoadShow can come to your location on its way back to California? The traveling MEC RoadShow 2010 also features three MEC scissor lifts including the 3084RT Speed Level™, the electric rough terrain 43’ working height 3772ES, and a 2633ES.
