MEC upgrades to newer, larger facility in Central California

Due to the company’s market success of several new products, including the MEC Speed Level™ 3084 and MEC 5492RT scissor lift series, MEC Aerial Work Platforms is relocating its production facility to a newer, larger, state-of-the-art campus in Kerman, CA (about 30 miles northwest from the current Selma factory).

The MEC moving vans took the first loads out of Selma, CA in September, 2009

The new facility is almost 200,000 square feet, with separate enclosed areas for R&D, welding, streamlined production lines, and more. The new building includes energy efficient lighting throughout the factory, twice the number of shipping docks compared to its current location, a railroad spur, employee break patio areas, a training center, and more.

The tedious and detailed moving process began September 14 and is scheduled to conclude by year-end. Production lines will each be shut down for one to two weeks to facilitate the move of each line to the new location.
